The Knox County Chancery Court has jurisdiction, which includes equitable, or inherent equity jurisdiction and statutorily mandated jurisdiction. The Knox County Chancery Court is divided into the “Chancery Divisions” and the “Probate Division”. The Chancery Division receives filings for cases and disputes involving contracts, divorces, real property disputes, real property sales, workers compensation, guardianships, conservatorships, name changes, removal of minor disabilities and a variety of other matters pursuant to statute. The Probate Division, pursuant to Statute and Local Rules, receives filings with respect to the probate of wills and the administration of the estates of decedents.
