Knox County conducts a county wide reappraisal on a four (4) year cycle.  However, the next reappraisal will be in five (5) years, in 2022. Please keep in mind that you may appeal your appraisal each year during the month of June before the Knox County Board of Equalization.  This service is provided for you to be utilized at your discretion.

Our office will update this information regularly so as to keep our constituents readily informed.

My name is John Whitehead. It is my distinct honor and privilege to serve you as Property Assessor.

I have a deep respect for this office and the service it provides for the constituents of this county. I have dedicated many years of my adult life working in this office in different capacities, and I am proud to say that I am the only assessor in the State of Tennessee to have achieved the highest designations offered by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).

My staff is extremely competent and hardworking.  We are conscious of the fact that we work for you.  Your home is likely the biggest and most important investment you make.  We take this very seriously.
