Whether you filed an Informal Appeal or not during our Informal Appeals process, it is your right to appeal the value or classification of your property to the Knox County Board of Equalization if you so choose.


Appeal Instructions

If you believe the listed value of your parcel does not reflect the fair market value or classification of your property, you may appeal to the County Board of Equalization. You must schedule an appointment by calling (865) 215-2006 beginning Tuesday, May 28, 2024 through Friday, June 28, 2024. Every effort will be made to accommodate all appeals to the County Board. Failure to appeal to the County Board of Equalization will result in the values and the classification being final for tax year 2024.

I have a deep respect for this office and the service it provides for the constituents of this county. I have dedicated many years of my adult life working in this office in different capacities, and I am proud to say that I am the only assessor in the State of Tennessee to have achieved the highest designations offered by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).

My staff is extremely competent and hardworking.  We are conscious of the fact that we work for you.  Your home is likely the biggest and most important investment you make.  We take this very seriously.
