Crips Gang Member Convicted of Robbing Teenagers

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Career Gang Unit obtained multiple convictions against a gang member who robbed four teenagers in Mechanicsville while they were playing basketball. Dashun Jawuan Shackleford, 19, was convicted of four counts of Aggravated Robbery, and the jury found that Shackleford was a member of the Crips street gang. Judge Steve Sword set the case for sentencing on August 9 where Shackleford faces fifteen to twenty-five years in prison for each count....more


Repeat Drug Dealer Convicted in Overdose Death

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Felony Drug Unit obtained a twenty-four-year sentence against a repeat drug dealer who sold a deadly fentanyl analogue to a man that overdosed. Carjacking Defendant to Serve Twenty Years

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Felony Drug Unit obtained a twenty-year sentence against a career criminal who carjacked a man in East Knoxville. Randolph Stevenson, 34, pled guilty to Carjacking, Attempted Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, and Attempted Aggravated Robbery. Under the terms of the agreement, Judge Scott Green sentenced Stevenson to twenty years in prison....more

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Career Gang Unit obtained convictions against a career criminal who broke into a home off Rutledge Pike. Billy Ray Moats, 42, was convicted of Aggravated Burglary and Theft. Judge Bob McGee set the case for sentencing on August 2 where Moats faces between fifteen and twenty-one years in prison....more


Gang Members Convicted of Robbing Disabled Family Member

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Career Gang Unit obtained multiple convictions against two gang members who robbed a wheelchair-bound family member. Byron Edwin Hartshaw, 34, and Gary Lee Emory, 37, were convicted of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Burglary. The jury also found that Hartshaw is a member of the Vice Lords criminal street gang and that Emory is a member of the Gangster Disciples. Judge Steve Sword set the case for sentencing on July 13 where both men face between fifteen and twenty-seven years in prison....more


Drug Dealer Convicted of Murder Sentenced to Thirty-Seven Years

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Felony Drug Unit obtained a thirty-seven-year sentence against a career criminal whose drug dealing led to the death of a thirty-year-old woman.  Kenyon Demario Reynolds, 43, was convicted of Second Degree Murder, Sale and Delivery of Heroin in a Drug Free School Zone, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Heroin in a Drug Free School Zone, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.  Today, Judge Bob McGee sentenced Reynolds to serve thirty-seven years in prison.  In addition to finding Reynolds guilty, the jury also assessed fines totaling $830,000. ...more

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen's Career Gang Unit obtained multiple convictions against two gang members who shot a man on Linden Avenue during a robbery. Tyshon Artrell Booker, 19, was convicted earlier this year of First Degree Felony Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery and sentenced to life in prison. Today, Bradley Lamar Robinson, 19, was convicted of Facilitation of First Degree Felony Murder and Facilitation of Especially Aggravated Robbery. Joshua Derrell Hurt, 19, was convicted of Especially Aggravated Robbery, Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter, and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony. Judge Steve Sword set the case for sentencing on May 31 where Hurt faces a minimum of fifteen years in prison without the possibility of parole....more
