Knox County Senior Services

Coronavirus Coronavirus

Mayor Glenn Jacobs is pleased to announce that all six Knox County Senior Centers will open at their regularly scheduled hours beginning Monday April 5, 2021 with limited programming due to COVID restrictions. Please check with your Center for available pre-registered activities.

Senior Center staff will continue to present a robust variety of virtual programs via electronic media. A full listing may be viewed in the monthly newsletters.

In keeping with guidance regarding COVID-19, the five core actions will be practiced:

  1. Practice Physical Distancing – Stay 6 feet away from others who are not part of your household whenever possible.
  2. Wear cloth face coverings – Wear a mask in public

when six feet of physical distancing can’t be maintained.

  1. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly – Wash for 20 seconds with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  2. Clean frequently-touched surfaces – Use hand sanitizing wipes to wipe door handles, exercise equipment, etc.
  3. Stay home when sick – If you do not feel well or have been told to isolate or quarantine, please stay home.
