The Knox County Board of Zoning Appeals hears requests for variances of the Knox County zoning regulations, appeals of Uses on Review, and appeals of Zoning Enforcement & Knox County Stormwater Management (A division of Knox County Engineering) administrative decisions and penalties.
Applications for appeals and variances must be submitted to the Knox County Codes Administration within 30 days of notification of a decision by Knox County Stormwater Management. Application Procedures and submittal requirements are available online or by contacting Knox County Codes Administration.
The criteria for granting variances are presented in Article 6 Section 6.60 of the Knox County Zoning Ordinance.
