KCHD's CDC Clinic offers STI testing and treatment on a walk-in basis. All services are confidential and provided regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or income. We are open at the main health department location from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every weekday with extended hours to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Here's what you can expect at your visit.
STI Screenings: Our routine STI screening includes a blood draw for Syphilis, Hepatitis C, and HIV. We will also collect a urine sample and oral and rectal swabs for gonorrhea and chlamydia. You may need additional testing depending on your symptoms.
Treatment: You may or may not receive treatment at your visit depending on your symptoms and sexual history. You will meet with a nurse who will assess if it is appropriate to receive treatment at your visit or await test results.
Disease Intervention Specialists: You may be interviewed by one of our DIS team members, who are responsible for informing people who may have been exposed to an STI of their need to come in for treatment. All personal health information is confidential.
Vaccines: We will review your immunization record and discuss available vaccines you can receive at your visit or refer you to our Immunization Clinic.
Other referrals: Our staff may connect you with other clinics or community partners. Let us know if there are additional ways we can help you.
