West Clinic

KCHD's West Clinic location will be closed July 29-Aug. 13.
West Clinic will close at 11 a.m. June 24 and 26 for vaccine outreach.

The Knox County Health Department's West Clinic is located at 1028 Old Cedar Bluff and provides services from routine immunizations to STI testing. For a full list of services, see below.

Adult Vaccines: The immunizations needed by adults are determined by several factors, including age, lifestyle, health level, and immunization history. Adult vaccines include immunizations for flu, pregnancy and more.

Child Vaccines: Make sure your children are up-to-date on all recommended vaccinations for infants, pre-teens, and teens. Some vaccines might be necessary for your child to start kindergarten, middle school and college.

Family Planning and Birth Control: Planning when to becoming pregnant is an important decision for all women. We want to help women with the timing of this choice. Make an appointment to discuss the birth control options that are right for you.

STI Testing: If you think you have an infection, like an STI, the West Clinic offers testing on a walk-in basis. You can also call to make an appointment.

Newborn Screenings: Newborn screening is a public health program designed to screen infants shortly after birth for conditions that are treatable but may not be apparent at birth. If it is determined that the screening should be repeated, the health department can perform this test. Please call the clinic if you have been advised to repeat the newborn screening.

TB Skin Tests: The TB skin test, also known as the tuberculin skin test, may be used to find out if you are infected with tuberculosis (TB). Many health-related school programs (nursing, dental, medical assistant, etc.) require that prospective students be screened for TB before entering their program, especially if your program includes clinicals in a healthcare facility. If your school asks you to get a TB skin test, the West clinic can perform this screening. There is a charge for this service. Please call the clinic for details and to schedule an appointment.

Back to School Vaccine Events: The West Clinic will offer two back-to-school vaccine events from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays, June 29 and July 13. Appointments will be available for rising kindergarteners, rising 7th graders and college students only. Call 865-215-5950 to make an appointment.
