The Magistrate handles domestic abuse cases at their earliest stages. The Magistrate receives and examines Petitions for Order of Protection. Upon review of a Petition, the Magistrate may issue a Temporary Order of Protection. Upon service, the case will be scheduled for further hearing before a trial court.
