Prevent Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is very common, but can be prevented. If you have prediabetes or are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, the Diabetes Prevention Program can help. The Knox County Health Department is covering the cost of a 12-month online program to prevent type 2 diabetes for people who live or work in Knox County. Limited spots are available, so sign up today. Start by filling out this short survey to see if you qualify.
Take the diabetes risk test to find out where you stand. Do you live or work in Knox County AND score 5 or higher on the risk test? The Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes Program might be a good fit for you!
During the 12-onth FREE ONLINE program you will
- Attend live, interactive classes online from your computer or mobile device
- Receive weekly support from your instructor, a trained lifestyle coach
- Connect with others working on the same goals as you
- Learn ways to manage stress
- Overcome barriers to healthy eating and physical activity!

Today nearly 29 million people are living with diabetes in the United States. Thanks to better treatments, people with diabetes are now living longer – and with a better quality of life – than ever before. If you are living with diabetes, it’s important to make choices that keep you and your loved ones healthy.
Being diagnosed with diabetes is a life-changing event. Managing the disease can be time consuming and overwhelming. That's why the Knox County Health Department offers a free three-part series and a variety of resources to help.
