Knox County Tennessee

Adoption/Foster Care Inspection Program

The Knox County Fire Prevention Bureau receives referral requests for inspections of the homes of prospective adoptive parents from the State of Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. The purpose of these inspections is to evaluate their home for fire and life safety hazards. Fire inspectors conduct the initial inspections and any needed reinspections and provide approval documentation to the parents to be forwarded on to state adoption officials.

To schedule these inspections you may call the Knox County Fire Prevention Bureau at 215-4660.
