Outlying Preventive Health Services Clinics
The outlying preventive health services clinics provide the following services:
EPSDT physicals (well check-ups) are provided to TennCare recipients with proof of TennCare coverage. These physicals include a complete family & medical history; vision, hearing & developmental screenings, as well as screening for risk of tuberculosis, cholesterol & lead risk. A complete physical is performed by a nurse & any abnormal findings are referred to the client’s Primary Care Provider. EPSDT physicals are by appointment & TennCare is billed.
Preventative Health Services provided are lice and scabies screenings, blood pressure checks, & newborn screening tests as needed. These services are free of charge on a walk-in basis.
Family Planning services include contraceptive counseling, birth control methods, pregnancy testing & pap smear program for women who do not need or desire birth control. Exams for women include: medical history, urine, blood & vaginal infection tests; weight and blood pressure check; pelvic & breast exam; & pap smear.
Immunizations that are recommended by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics are provided to infants & children age 6 weeks to 18 years free of charge on a walk in basis.
Adults may also receive immunizations recommended by the Center for Disease Control for a fee.
The outlying clinics are open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
