Knox County opens Plumb Creek Park

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – This afternoon, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett joined PetSafe CEO Willie Wallace, Legacy Parks Foundation Executive Director Carol Evans, project partners, members of the community and other officials for the grand opening of Plumb Creek Park. The park is located at 1517 Hickey Road.

“Knox County is a great place to live and raise a family, and whether you have kids who want to enjoy the playground or a dog that wants to run wild in the PetSafe dog park, spaces like this provide an opportunity to get outside and enjoy spending time together,” said Mayor Burchett. “This community has been looking forward to a new park for quite some time, and now that it’s complete it will continue to be an asset for years to come.”

The 33-acre park will feature:

  • a playground
  • a picnic pavilion
  • restrooms
  • a 9-hole par 3 disc golf and foot golf course
  • 2 walking trails
  • 7-acre park for large dogs (with shelter, water fountain with dog bowl, walking path)
  • 0.7-acre park for small dogs (with a shelter and water fountain with dog bowl)
  • Pervious parking lot with 54 spaces
  • Tributary to Beaver creek and a pedestrian bridge
