Clayton Park opens in Halls

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2016) - On Monday, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett and Clayton Bank Chairman Jim Clayton were joined by members of the Halls community for the grand opening of Clayton Park. The park is the newest in the Knox County system and is located at 7347 Norris Freeway.

A flag raising ceremony was held to mark the occassion. The park's flag pole was donated by the Halls Crossroads Women's League in commemoration of its 10th anniversary. Additionally, the park's entrance sign was donated by the Halls Business & Professional Association.

Clayton Park, which was built in-house by Knox County Parks & Recreation crews, features 11 acres adjacent to Beaver Creek with natural wetlands and a paved 0.2 mile walking loop. The park includes a picnic shelter with six tables and a grill, restroom facilities, a playground, bike racks, and a drinking fountain with pet fountain attached.  A paved connection to the Halls Greenway will be completed with the road construction on Norris Freeway.
