At the Monday, November 14th Knox County Commission meeting, Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond proudly presented a check for $400,000 to Knox County. The funds submitted were generated from the Court Clerk’s third quarter operations and are the direct result of successful efficiency and collections efforts. Moreover, these results are a credit to the staffs’ steadfast embrace of efficiency and consistent attention to detail. These funds have been nicknamed an “Efficiency Dividend” by the Court Clerk, because they accumulated due to the efficiency of operations and are being paid to the citizens (shareholders) of Knox County. The funds turned over to Knox County represent the remainder of all collected clerk fees after covering costs.
