Budget

Commissioners,

I know that we scheduled a special session for June 29 for a budget vote to get the best numbers possible form the state. I am going to request at the meeting today to add the budget items to the agenda to be voted on at the 22nd meeting. I have spoken to Mayor Jacobs and Chris Caldwell about the proposed move and they are comfortable with the date change.

Knowing the numbers of the budget and where we are on revenue, my only request for the budget is that the budget is re-evaluated mid year. If revenues allow, we should invest on our employees as intended before COVID-19.

Commissioner Anders,

We may want to consider moving the budget vote to Wed. June 24 immediately following the Commission Finance Committee Meeting. We postponed holding the Finance Meeting to allow the County Finance Dept. time to evaluate the data that will be released by the TN Dept. of Revenue on June 22.
