Charles Busler is serving his first term as Seventh District Knox County Commissioner. District 7 has been his home for over 41 years. During those years, Busler has served this community in different capacities. He has been a member of Sharon Baptist Church for 35 years, serving as deacon, Upward Basketball volunteer, Awanas and Men’s Sunday School teacher. For eight years, Busler served on the Metropolitan Planning Commission. He has served on the Grand Jury, has been a member of the Powell Republican Club, the Halls/Powell Republican Club, and the Elections Chair Person for the 73rd Precinct and has had the honor of working for Habitat for Humanity on various houses, as well as the Habitat Park in downtown Knoxville.
Commissioner Busler retired from Sears Contract Sales after 43 years of service, during which time he was nationally ranked as a top 5 salesman numerous times. He has been a member of the Home Builders Association for 33 years and served on the Government Affairs Committee for the Home Builders Association in Sevier, Knox, and Blount Counties and on the State level. Charles Busler worked as the director for the Home Show sponsored by the HBA of Knoxville and helped establish the HBA of Sevier County and HBA of Cumberland County. He served as Associate Director of the Tennessee Home Builders Association and was recognized as Associate of the Year. Currently, Busler serves as Lifetime Director of the Home Builders Association.
