Knox County routinely hosts workshops, sales, activities and events that are open to the public and often FREE to the public. Below are a list of upcoming Knox County Stormwater events:

  • Strong Streams Buffers Presentation / Workshop – Friday, April 28th from 3pm – 4pm at the Bearden Library branch, 100 Golf Club Road, Knoxville. Learn why vegetated streamside buffers are important to landowners and the community, and how maintaining a buffer can save you time and money while beautifying your landscape.   • “Make-it, Take-it Rain Barrel Workshops”. Make and take home your own rain barrel. Learn why and how to install them on to your own home!

  • Families in the Creek on Saturday, June 10th, 9am – 1pm. This is a unique experience for families to come out and learn about what’s in their local creeks! This half-day event teaches participants how to determine if a creek is healthy. Join professional biologists and water quality professionals for this FREE event! Visit for more information

  • Tennessee River Runoff 5K & Cheers to Clean Water Celebration. Friday, June 2nd from 5-9pm at the UT Gardens.  Run a quick 5K around the UT campus and view some of the sustainable development installed recently; then, join us for a frosty beverage or two to celebrate! Register here:
