Knox County Site Planning Roundtable Recommendations

We have uploaded an overview of the Site Planning Roundtable process (which, you should know, was started in 2002). Along with a summary of the recommendations is a brief explanation of the process by which these recommendations are anticipated to be implemented. Note that full implementation of the Roundtable recommendations will ultimately require coordination with other agencies such as MPC, a process anticipated to follow closely to implementation of the Ordinance in early 2006.

Site Planning Roundtable Member List

The Site Planning Roundtable, based on a Center for Watershed Protection process for evaluating local design codes and their relationship to water quality, began in the Fall of 2002. Since that time, the member list for meetings has grown, perhaps doubling in size. Comparison of City and County Stormwater Design Criteria

There has been a good bit of discussion of the comparison between the design approach being proposed in the Knox County stormwater regulations as compared to those currently used in both the City of Knoxville and Knox County.

December 2007 Stormwater Management Ordinance

The 2007 Stormwater Management Ordinance to be considered on first reading in December by County Commission is complete. This reflects the final agreement with City of Knoxville regarding pipe specifications with respect to the 2001 Growth Plan Agreement.
