Park Honors

Donations and Memorials

Knox County Parks and Recreation provides opportunities for individuals or groups to enhance our community parks in memory or honor of a relative, friend or organization, or to celebrate a special event. Your tax deductible contribution may cover the cost of a tree and its installation or another amenity or resource to improve Knox County’s distinctive green spaces.

Tree Donations

Donations will be accepted throughout the year and trees will be planted by Knox County during optimal planting seasons. Our staff will work with you to choose the best native species and location for your tree.

You and/or your designee will receive a commemorative card noting the donation and the honoree’s name will be listed on a dedicated web page on the Knox County Parks website.

Park Bench/Amenity Donations

Contributions for park benches or other items on our “wish list” will be accepted at any time and items will be placed as staff resources and weather permit.  Our staff will work with you to choose the best location for your bench, bike rack, water fountain or other feature to add to the park of your choice.

Some benches and amenities offer an option for a commemorative plaque to be placed on the bench.  We can also help you with those arrangements if appropriate.

You and/or your designee will receive a commemorative note card and the honoree’s name will be listed on a dedicated web page on the Knox County Parks website.

Donation prices cover the cost of the item, planting or placement, and maintenance.  Tree prices begin at $250, and benches and other amenities start at $1,000.  Please contact Rebekah Jane Montgomery at 215-6600 to find out more about this program.
