"The Home Occupation provisions in the Knox County Zoning Ordinance exist to define home occupations and prescribe the conditions under which such occupations may be permitted."
- No person other than those residing in the household should be engaged in the home occupation;
- Not more than 25% of the floor area of the home can be used in the conduct of the home occupation;
- No changes can be made to the outside appearance of the building;
- No outdoor storage of anything other than vehicles or a sign for the business (as permitted by the sign ordinance) is allowed;
- No home occupation shall be conducted in an accessory building;
- No traffic shall be generated by the home occupation in greater volumes than would normally be expected in a residential neighborhood;
- Any need for parking should be off the street, but not in a front yard; and
- There should be no increase in noise, vibrations, equipment, etc. caused by the home occupation.
