KNOXVILLE (Aug. 9, 2011) – On Friday Aug. 26, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett will host the 5th Annual Healthy Living Senior Appreciation Picnic at Tommy Schumpert Park, 6400 Fountain City Road, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All Knox County seniors are invited.
The picnic will include a barbecue lunch and sides, live music and a mini-health fair. Mayfield will be giving away free ice cream.
The mini-health fair will include free blood pressure checks, information about estate planning, and senior health and fitness education.
The event is free to all Knox County seniors. Any senior planning to attend is asked to RSVP by August 17 by calling 865-215-4007.
The Knox County Commission, Knoxville City Council and Knoxville Mayor Daniel Brown have all been invited to attend.
