Knox Co. crews clear roads following storms

Knoxville, Tenn. —

Knox County Engineering & Public Works crews worked hard to clear roads blocked by downed trees following violent storms that struck in late June.

“The week of the storms was a long week for our public works crews, but they worked hard to make sure that Knox County’s roads are safe.  I appreciate the hard work that they do for Knox County,” County Mayor Tim Burchett said.  “Roads are one thing, but homes are another.  Many of our neighbors suffered from extensive storm damage, and, as neighbors, we should help where we can and also keep those families in our prayers.”

Following the storms, dozens of Knox County's roads were closed due to downed powerlines, flooding and downed trees.  All of the roads have since reopened.
