Knox County IT develops iPad app for election returns

Knoxville (Nov. 5, 2012) — Knox County voters now have a new way to follow election returns as they come in on election night. The Knox County Information Technology Department, in coordination with the Knox County Election Commission office, recently developed and launched an iPad app that delivers live election returns directly to the user’s iPad.

“Our IT department did a great job developing this app,” said Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett. “With more and more people on the go and using these sorts of devices, developing this app just made sense.”

“We’re always seeking new ways to promote the electoral process,” said Knox County Administrator of Elections Cliff Rodgers. “I appreciate the Knox County IT Department developing this iPad app for folks to view the results more easily on election night.”

The iPad app is free to all iPad users and is titled Knox County Tennessee Election Results in the App Store.

Live election results are still available on mobile and desktop devices by visiting http://www.knoxcounty.org/election.
