Applications are now available for Knox County Parks and Recreation's Scarecrows in the Park, a favorite fall tradition combining family-friendly entertainment with easy exercise.
Individuals, organizations, schools and families are invited to join in the fun and create their own creepy or silly scarecrow to place along the quarter-mile walking trail in New Harvest Park. The Scarecrow Trail will be open each day from sunrise until sunset at the park located at 4775 New Harvest Lane in northeast Knox County.
The event will kickoff at New Harvest Park's Farmers Market on Thursday, October 18 from 3 until 6 p.m. Public ballots will be available through Monday, October 22, and the winners in both adult and student categories will be announced at the Farmers Market on October 25. First place winners in each category will win $100 presented by Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, and second place winners will receive a free shelter rental at any Knox County park...more>>
