Mayor announces start of Halls road construction project

KNOXVILLE (Aug. 6, 2012) – On Monday, Aug. 3, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett toured the site of an important road construction project in the Halls community.  Prior to the tour, Mayor Burchett announced that construction on roadway improvements at the intersection of Emory Rd. and Andersonville Pike will begin this week.

“This road project will greatly improve traffic flow at this major intersection, which will increase public safety and help encourage economic development,” Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said.  “I am very proud of the Knox County Engineering and Public Works Department for their work on this project.  I also want to thank the Knox County Commission for their work and support, which helped get us to this point.”

Knox County Commissioners R. Larry Smith and Ed Shouse both attended and spoke during the event.
