KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett today announced the location of the next “Knox Cash Mob” to encourage residents to support local businesses.
“After a very successful cash mob at Emery’s 5 & 10, I am happy to announce that the second cash mob will benefit two businesses: the Disc Exchange and Wee Care Shoppe on Chapman Highway,” Mayor Burchett said. “The Disc Exchange and Wee Care are two great local businesses, and I hope everyone will come out to support them this Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.”
Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero has also been supportive of the Knox Cash Mob effort and plans to attend the March 9 event.
In addition to new and used CDs, the Disc Exchange also carries vinyl records, DVDs, apparel, collectibles and many other items.
Wee Care Shoppe is a children’s consignment shop that offers children’s clothes, toys and other items that young families need.
The two businesses are next door to each other, with the Disc Exchange located at 2615 Chapman Highway and Wee Care Shoppe located at 2537 Chapman Highway (the former Book Eddy location).
Area businesses are invited and encouraged to take part in the Knox Cash Mob by sending employees to Friday’s event to distribute information about their respective businesses.
Shoney Bear, the mascot for the locally-owned Shoney’s Family Restaurant franchise, will be on hand to greet children and hand out coupons. In addition, two locally owned and operated food truck vendors will also be a part of the event.
