Holiday Festival of Lights

Knox County presents a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. The Holiday Festival of Lights at The Cove at Concord Park opens on Friday, December 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Cove is located at 11808 Northshore Drive.

Walking the three-quarter mile paved trail amidst a twinkling wonderland of light displays, you'll see over one hundred thousand lights, some coordinated to music. Bonfires will be glowing for warming fingers and roasting marshmallows. Hot kettle corn, coffee and hot cocoa, and the makings for s'mores will be available for purchase.

"Christmas lights are a great holiday tradition, and this is a good way for families to see an outstanding light display while being able to enjoy one of Knox County's many parks," Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said. "I hope families from across Knox County and surrounding areas will make a point to visit the Holiday Festival of Lights this year."

From December 17-23, Santa Claus will be there to greet visitors. The event will continue through December 30, but will be closed on Christmas. The hours are 6 to 9 p.m. each day.

The Holiday Festival of Lights is free and open to the public. However, donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for The Love Kitchen.

Pets on leashes are welcome.
