If your child has an interest in golf, now is a great time for them to discover the game. Golf is a lifetime sport that teaches us many life skills. Programs are expanding in Knoxville due to some newly formed partnerships. The Tennessee Golf Foundation has partnered with Knox Area Junior Golf Association to operate Beverly Park Golf Course in North Knoxville. The TGF has also partnered with The First Tee of Greater Knoxville to expand their program offerings throughout our community.
Beverly Park Golf Course has programs for ages 4-17. Through a variety of programs, beginning golfers to advanced golfers will have a chance to learn and play. Most programs are 4-5 weeks and playing opportunities exist through league play. Kids can discover, learn and play. Clinics are taught by PGA professional George Hall. George is also a retired school teacher of more than 30 years.
The First Tee of Greater Knoxville has now expanded to 7 sites. They are: Beverly Park GC, Concord Park GC, WindRiver GC, Oak Ridge Country Club, Target Golf, Whittle Springs and Williams Creek GC. The First Tee teaches life skills while learning the game of golf. The First Tee is a national program that provides many opportunities for kids as they progress through the 5 levels: PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace. From playing opportunities in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am to college scholarships, The First Tee does a tremendous job giving young people a chance to grow as golfers and people.
