KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2010) -- Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett reappointed Ann Acuff to the Northeast Knox Utility Board today. She was sworn in by Mayor Burchett this afternoon.
“Ann has served the Northeast Knox Utility customers well for the past four years,” Mayor Burchett said. “She’s a true public servant, and her service is appreciated.”
Acuff, who currently serves as the Northeast Knox Utility Board president, is also accounting and budget director in the Knox County Finance Department.
“It’s been an honor to serve on the Northeast Knox Utility Board for the past four years, and I appreciate the reappointment by Mayor Burchett for a second term,” Acuff said. “During the last four years the board members, along with the utility administration, have worked hard to maintain quality service to our customers with only a minimal increase in rates.”

Since that time, she has moved to the Finance Department and has been promoted several times. As Chief Financial Officer and co-owner of House Mountain Hardware in Corryton from 1981 to 1998, she also has experience as a small business entrepreneur.
