Daniel SandersDaniel Sanders is the newest lawyer in the Law Director’s office.  Mr. Sanders is a lifelong resident of Knox County, having grown up in the Carter community and graduating from Carter High School.  Mr. Sanders is a graduate of Carson Newman College, where he doubled majored in Political Science and German.  He obtained his law degree from Liberty University in 2008.  An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Sanders enjoys camping, canoeing, kayaking and downhill skiing.

Mr. Sanders has accomplished much in a short period of time, and his contributions to the furtherance of providing quality legal services to Knox County government has not gone unnoticed. 





Chief Deputy Law Director Joe Jarret was recently named the recipient of the 2009 Gordon Johnston Award for Professionalism by the Florida Association of County Attorneys.  Before moving to Knoxville in 2007 with his wife Mandy (an accomplished attorney in her own right), Mr. Jarret was the County Attorney for Polk County, Florida, and has served in various capacities in local government during his legal career.  Mr. Jarret lectures frequently on various topics concerning local government and is a prolific author, having published in excess of 90 articles on a wide range of topics relevant to local government.  Congratulations to Joe Jarret!
