Quit Booths Offer Tools and Encouragement
During The Great American Smokeout® on Nov. 20

Every year, the third Thursday of November is designated by the American Cancer Society as the Great American Smokeout®. The event challenges people to stop using tobacco or cut down for the day and raises awareness of the many effective ways to quit for good. To provide tools and encouragement to those trying to quit, Smoke-Free Knoxville and the Knox County Health Department will set up “quit booths” in several locations across Knox County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.

The first 30 people at each location will get a $30 Chantix Coupon. Any smoker who signs a pledge saying that they will cut back or quit for at least one day in honor of the Great American Smokeout® will receive a quit kit from Smoke-Free Knoxville and the Knox County Health Department.
A quit kit includes information, tools, and resources to help smokers quit. Information will also be available for anyone who is interested in helping a friend or loved one quit.

Quit Booths will be located at:

  • Knox County Health Department, main lobby, 140 Dameron Avenue
  • East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, lobby at 21st Street entrance 
  • West Town Mall, Ruby Tuesday entrance, go left, Covenant Health Booth (near J.C. Penney) 
  • City-County Building  , Lobby, main level 
  • St. Mary’s Medical Center, lobby in Admitting
