September is National Preparedness Month

News Image

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Knox County Health Department (KCHD) encourages you to make a family preparedness kit. You can use our easy-to-read calendar, which guides you through the process of creating a three to seven day emergency supply kit for a family of four. The budget-friendly plan gives you a checklist of basic items that every emergency supply kit should include.

After 9/11, health departments across the U.S. took on the additional role of emergency planning to protect public health in the event of a large-scale medical disaster. KCHD’s Emergency Preparedness department enhances community preparedness by encouraging and supporting readiness planning efforts from individual households to large corporations.
