Cameron Brooks was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, lived in Bristol, Tennessee for his first 18 years, and has lived in Knoxville since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in 2001 with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. He worked as a labor and community organizer for several unions from 2003-2014 before becoming an affiliate broker with Coldwell Banker Wallace and Wallace, Realtors. Cameron has been active in local politics, having served in officer positions for the Knox County Democratic Party from 2013-2017 as well as on the executive committee for the Tennessee Democratic Party from 2014-2017. Additionally, he served on the Knox County Election commission from 2009-2011. An avid dog lover, he has rescued 4 golden retrievers and one German shepherd and is committed to philanthropic efforts supporting animal rescue groups in the area. He is a member of St. James Episcopal Church and is married to Wes Knott. In his spare time he loves watching professional football, particularly the Oakland Raiders, reading, and working out at the gym.
