Bruce Wuethrich became Senior Director of Engineering and Public Works in 1998. Wuethrich worked as Deputy Director in the department for 10 years before assuming the directorship. He has a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Tennessee. Wuethrich has worked in public service for over 25 years.
As Senior Director, Wuethrich is responsible for various departments that fall under the administration of Engineering & Public Works, including: Capital Projects, Codes Administration, Fleet Service Center, Fire Prevention, Highway Maintenance, Planning and Development, Solid Waste, Soil Conservation and Stormwater.
Wuethrich is involved with several committees involving state and local road improvements. He is currently on the Technical Committee for the Tennessee Planning Organization, and is a member of the American Public Works Association and the Tennessee County Highways Official Association. He also serves as a board member of the Knox County Credit Union and Air Quality.
Wuethrich and his wife, Becky, live in Halls and have two daughters.
