Mark Jones is the County's Senior Director for the Knox County Health Department. He has served in this position since 2003. Before becoming the health director, Jones was the Environmental Director for Knox County from 1995 to 2003. Prior to moving to Knox County, Jones was an attorney with the Tennessee Public Defender’s Conference and lived in the Nashville area.
Jones has most recently served on the Metropolitan Drug Commission Board, the Young-Williams Animal Center Board, the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee, and the E911 Board. Jones is currently active in the Tennessee Public Health Association where he severs on the Legislative and Award Committees, and participates in the National Associations of City County Health Officials.
Jones has earned degrees in Public Health, Business Marketing, and Law.
