Knox County Tennesee

Grant Compliance

In October 2004, Knox County Commission passed Resolution 04-10-905 that required any agency or organization which receives public funds appropriated by the Knox County Commission shall report to the Commission, on or before March 1 of each calendar year, detailing its expenditures to date of those funds appropriated by Knox County.

Then in May 2008 the Community Development department, which is responsible for monitoring the use of Community Grant fund, formally requested the County Commission to adopt the compliance process requiring those agencies to define specific results expected and report on a quarterly basis their performance toward achieving those results.  The Commission adopted Resolution 08-5-501 which endorsed Community Development’s process and mandated it as the standard methodology used for compliance of Community Grant recipients (as well as to adhere to R-04-10-905).

Resolution 08-5-501 also requires that the Community Development department submit a Compliance Report to the Commission for their review and possible action at the monthly Commission meeting following the end of each quarter in the fiscal year.

Below you will find the quarterly Compliance Reports required by R-08-5-501.  The report indicates each recipient’s attainment to the County’s six compliance requirements.

Every agency that receives Community Grant funding must attend a mandatory orientation where instruction of the Community Grant process is provided.  At the conclusion of the orientation, grantees are then required to sign a Grant Agreement in addition to submitting a Success Indicator form two weeks following the orientation.  The date we received the required documents is shown in the corresponding cell.

Every Community Grant recipient must submit a quarterly report that indicates the progress in achieving the stated goals on the Success Indicators form mentioned above.  Every recipient is required to submit a quarterly report regardless of whether activity occurred or not.  The date shown in the corresponding cells is the date in which the County received the required report.  If blank, then the County never received a report.

All the supporting information pertaining to each recipient’s successes is available for review.  Please call the Community Development office at (865) 215-3980.
