Craig Leuthold is serving his second term as a member of the Knox County Commission, having been elected in 2002. Craig is the second Leuthold to represent the Fifth Commission District, following in the footsteps of his father, Frank. Frank Leuthold served as a member of the Knox County Commission for twenty-two years and was chairman of the Finance Committee for many years. Commissioner Leuthold is currently Vice-Chairman of the Commission and serves on the Intergovernmental Committee, Court Subcommittee and the Procurement Committee.

Commissioner Craig Leuthold has followed in the traditions of his parents, being deeply interested in community service. Commissioner Leuthold is past president of the Optimist Club of Knoxville, as well as past Lieutenant Governor for Optimist International in the Tennessee District. Commissioner Leuthold just completed a term of service as Vice President of the Council of West Knox County Homeowner's Assocation. Craig Leuthold has also enjoyed coaching youth basketball for Cedar Bluff-Farragut Optimist.

Craig Leuthold graduated from Farragut High School and attended the University of Tennessee, earning a degree in Business Administration, majoring in finance. Commissioner Leuthold is employed by the Knox County Trustee's office.

Craig is married to former Brenda North. Craig and Brenda have three sons: Allen, Andrew, and Craig. The Leutholds are active members at Concord United Methodist Church and reside at 1320 Zachary Taylor Road.
