Greg "LUMPY" Lambert is a 3rd generation Powell Resident. He was born March 14th 1966. His parents are Earl & Pat Lambert, his grandparents are Carl & Ruby Strange, and Roy & Lela Lambert (deceased).

Lambert graduated from Powell High School class of 1985 and attended classes at Roane State Community College and the University of Tennessee.

Commissioner Lambert has been an entrepreneur for most of his adult life. He has owned a Limousine Service, and was part owner in a very successful paging and cellular phone dealership. He currently owns Advantage Auto Sales (a continuation of the family car dealership Lambert Motors).

Commissioner Lambert writes a weekly column for the Powell POST called "LUMPY’S CORNER". He is also a regular guest on "THE VOICE" a local political talk radio show on 1180am (www.southernrootsradio.com), and co-host of "CAR CONCERNS" an automotive talk show on 850am (www.carconcerns.com).

Lambert has been active in the Republican Party for more than 20 years. He has worked in a variety of campaigns including campaigns for George W. Bush, Bill Frist, Fred Thompson, Steve Hall, Ivan Harmon, Stacy Campfield, and Randal Parker.

Lambert has been involved in the pro 2nd amendment movement for most of his life. He has helped with the "Friends Of The NRA" banquets and is a frequent contributor to the NRA. He received national attention in 2000 when he ran the "Buy A Car Get A Gun" promotion at his car dealership. He has been active with the TCU (Tennessee Conservative Union) and has worked hard against the State Income tax.

Greg Lambert was a leader in Gary Sellers’ petition drive to repeal the wheel tax.

Commissioner Lambert was brought up in the Glenwood Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church. He is currently a member of Temple Baptist Church.
