Sharon Cawood is the Supervising Deputy Clerk for the Knox County Juvenile Court Clerk's office. There she manages the day to day operations and staff. Before this position, she was Director of Business Development for the ScanStore, a document management solutions company in downtown Knoxville. At ScanStore she handled marketing, account development, and community relations for the company.
As the former Manager of Business Development for Fountainhead College of Technology, Sharon developed the Professional Development curriculum for the
college and worked to help graduates of the college find employment. Sharon gained experience with career management while working with Right Management Consultants, an international outplacement firm for several years. She was Vice President of Business Development for RMC and covered the East Tennessee region. There she helped downsized employees find new employment and learn life-skills to manage their careers.
With a background in business start-up operations, Sharon's experience includes site research and development, forecasting, budget development, and marketing strategy and development. Her experience as a business developer includes marketing and sales in the fields of human resources, technology based services, and small business. During her career, she has worked with several organizations designing accounting systems and financial reporting procedures and has been recruited several times to help organizations in areas of trouble-shooting and disaster recovery.
Sharon is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Tusculum College (Bachelor of Science) with a specialization in organizational management. She earned her Master of Arts degree from Tusculum in human resource development (adult education). She also holds an ABS degree in accounting.
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Sharon is married to former Knox County Commissioner, Mark Cawood and they reside in the Karns Community. Both she and Mark attended Karns schools together from first grade through high school. Sharon has two children, Shaun and Kimberly.
